Food here is just spicy but nothing compared to Dainty!
2 weeks ago we decided to have Dainty’s but as usual the place was jam packed, especially on a Friday night. While we were walking by it one of the easily recognizable waiter came out with a camcorder, shooting the long, snake-line queue. Nice advertising material there Dainty. I was never a spicy food lover, but Dainty changed my life, I now have a love-hate relationship with spicy food.
Keeping that in mind, we looked for a place to satisfy our Dainty hunger and found a new competitor in the vicinity, Spicy Temptation House. The shop is still very new so we decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, the experience was unsatisfying. We did not get to taste ANYTHING. We walked right out of the shop, try to satisfy our little stomachs.
“a Hungry man is an Angry man.”
Poor service and management
There were around 20 floor staffs but they don’t seem to work efficiently. Most of the time waiting in front of the kitchen entrance. After waiting for almost an hour, we could see disgruntled faces all over. We spoke to the floor manager but it didn’t seem he did anything with our complain. Instead, he went chatting with the female staffs.
Typo on Menu!
The menu was horrible, I think they have improved it now, with lesser errors.
- Pork Fee
- Poseidon dish with Carb Meat.
How are they going to attract Australians with such lousy menu? Slap in a picture or two and include a Chef’s recommendation for starters.
Round 2. Chance.
Plans were made for another Dainty punishment, but learned that the shop has MOVED. !?!?!?!! Again, with my forgiving nature, we gave them another chance. This time on a weekday.
Food
Food here was alright, but it ain’t Dainty’s. We asked for recommendation, and we basically got all the expensive ones on our dining table. Nothing stood out, the beef pot, fish, prawns were alright. The eggplant dish was good but it wasn’t spicy.
Will I visit Spicy Temptation House again?? Not in a long long time…..

I’m amazed at the negative comments about spicy temptation house. All new establishments require time to get things together, in saying that my partner and I go to Spicy Temptation at least twice a week. We have had nothing but posative experiences since going there. The food has always been very spicy, and in actual fact after talking to the staff found that they had to tone down the heat of their dishes because to many people were complaining it was to hot for them. If your truly looking for spice you need only ask them to make it extra spicy and they will oblidge. Unfortunately us Australians have a pre concieved idea of what Spicy means. We think differently to what Chinese think when we hear this. Spicy in Chinese means Chilli hot. The problem this causes is unsuspecting Australians walk in look at the menu and don’t have a clue what they are in for. On many nights I have seen this scene play out, confused Australians not knowing what to even order. If they like chilli hot then go and order extra spicy. If not then go to dragon boat or shark finn and order you sweet and sour pork or lemon chicken meals and stay away from “real Chinese cuisine”.
