It should work for MKV and ASS files instead. Best way is to use MKVToolnix and merge the subtitle files into one MKV file. It's quite easy to do so using guides searched on the Internet.

This worked absolutely great, thank you! I'd been going over and over with TVersity and it couldn't work at all.

I've no complaints and only one question. Perhaps you could help me. It's not really a critical problem, it's more of convenience and perfection - I tried playing a bluray copy of Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children Complete (.mkv file) and it works (FINALLY!) but the first and last letter of the subtitles (in some lines) are cut off. Any idea what could be causing this?

In any case, thank you again for all the help :D

try reinstalling your codec pack and make sure your computer has enough resources! Sometimes halfway through the video my computer's antivirus starts to run and the sound lag as well so a powerful computer will definitely help a lot.

Hi there! This was tremendously helpful. Thank you so much for posting this.

I only have a simple question; Often when i'll watch a tv show ... after maybe 20 minutes or so, the sound starts to lag. The image doesn't stutter or anything ... but the sound is like 1 second too late.

Any clue on how to fix this would be greatly helpful. Thanks :)

John, if you meant you want to change the subtitles font to be displayed in PS3Media server, you need to change it with this program called Aegisub, Google it.
Most likely it will save to .ass subtitle format which is better and easier to customize the font styles.
