guitar hero 5 google chrome Using PS3 Guitar Hero World Tour Controller on the PC

Wanna use your PS3 Guitar Hero World Tour guitar on the PC (or Guitar Hero 3)? Then this guide’s for you!

- Firstly, you’ll need to download some files!

  • JoyToKey v3.79 from Here | Mirror
  • Download the PS3 Guitar config file Here
  • You need the Gibson Les Paul PS3 guitar and the game. Duh!

- Okay, now extract the JoyToKey file and throw in the PS3 Guitar config file into the same folder where you extracted JoyToKey.
- Plug in the Guitar’s USB connector.
- Run JoyToKey and choose PS3 guitar.
- Run Guitar Hero 3/Aerosmith for the PC. (should work for Frets on Fire)
- Go to Options > Controller > Configure Keyboard and set it up this way

Green —– 1
Red —– 2
Yellow —– 3
Blue —– 4
Orange —– 5
Star Power —– 6
Whammy —– 7
Mouse Whammy —– X-Axis
Strum Up —– Button 1
Strum Down —– Button 0

- It should work!!! ROCK N’ ROLL!!

Notes

- Apparently the motion sensor does not work, when you want to do Star Power. You have to press the button. Well, World Tour’s guitar has the star power button which is easier to reach!
- Whammy works perfectly!
- Pressing “Enter” when asked to key name for High Score doesn’t seem to work either. I had to press “Backspace” on the keyboard.

How about the guitar hero world tour drum controller?
is it have the same configuration as guitar?

shudn’t be the same configuration but I think it will work right off as the PC version should be using the same drums as the ps3 one, as MisterE has reported, it works. Try fiddling around with Joy2Key, if the buttons register, then it’s just setting up the buttons in Joy2key.

Hello, I am sure it will work, firstly does your computer detect the guitar, and does it register anything when you hit the keys on the guitar. If it does, then it’s a matter of configuring the Joy2Key buttons. Once you get it right, it will definitely work.

Well first of all I want to say that the GHWT PC recognized my PS3 GHWT Guitar without using JoyToKey or another programm, I’m using Windows 7 x32 and asap I plug the guitar Windows 7 installed the drivers.

Why am I using the PS3 to play GHWT on PC? That’s because I sold my PS3…XD

Cheers

Did you use the guitar before or after you installed GHWT?

I have GHWT and the ps3 wireless guitar, running Windows 7 64bit. When I plug the guitar in, Windows recognizes it and all. However, when I turn the game on, I can’t use the guitar. The only option I have is to use the keyboard. Does anyone else have this problem???

It does not work in GH III. I used guitar from GH WT PS3 version and when I press orange button it works like red. In menu everything work perfect but not in game. I have v1.31.

Try fiddling around with the PS3 Guitar.Cfg file. Seem like you just need to map the buttons correctly and it should fix it right away. Actually that Cfg file was made for GH III so it should work.
